Whilst at Jagex, I redesigned their corporate website.
As you can see above their old website (right) was slightly out of date and needed to be modernised, whilst still remaining clean and minimalistic. I feel I managed to achieve this with the design they went with (left).
If you read on you can see a number of other designs and a functional prototype I produced, which didn’t quite make it through to going live.
Unfortunately with this concept I had to remove a lot of the imagery to show this example as the images that were contained had not been released to the press or public from either the runescape or jagex’s websites.
This was a quick mockup design I think this was actually my first concept ![]()

Great to see some of your hard work hitting the world wide web.. albeit not quite in the fashion it should have.
I love the new design but I liked your first concept better
Thanks Paul.
I agree, I quite liked the first design, it obviously needed a lot of tidying as that was just a quick first draft I did.
But at the end of the day, you have to create what your clients want.
And they wanted a very basic site and gave me an example of the http://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/.
I would of preferred an EA games portal site personally.
Aren’t all designs you did prior to leaving Jagex still their IP?
Are you sure posting them is legal?
The blue grey design, is actually my IP as I did this before I started working for them.
Before I joined Jagex, I received writen confirmation that any of my work that was not to be used at Jagex could go into my portfolio or if my designs had been made available to the public they could be shown in my portfolio.
There is a lot of work that I cannot put up as it is either part of their intranet or internal applications.
With the brown / red design - I had to unfortunately remove a lot of the imagery as it had not been made available to the public.
Before I left I reconfirmed that what I have shown could be used.
Whoa, nice designs! I’m a runescape player I somehow got to this website
— I really like the Brown/Red Design it really matches the Runescape feel, but your first concept, the parts I really enjoy is the navigation and layout. It would awesome if the two were joined.
Sadly, not going to happen, but nice designs Admin!
P.S. Hello Paul.
Very nice site
